Obsession (2026)

Holy freaking God.

This film scared the absolute shit out of me.

I’m not even joking, I was half tempted to pop down to my local Gurdwara afterwards.

If there’s one thing films have taught me over the years, it’s this:

Never.

Ever.

Make a wish.

Seriously, it never ends well.

Just ask Aladdin.

Or Brendan Fraser in Bedazzled.

Or Bruce in Bruce Almighty.

Or Cinderella.

Or Wonder Woman 1984.

Or Tom Hanks in Big.

Why do I know so many films about wishes?

Anyway…

Back to Obsession.

I’m not going anywhere near spoilers because this is one of those films that’s best experienced knowing as little as possible. What starts off feeling unsettling slowly cranks the tension higher and higher until you’re questioning every shadow, every noise and every decision the characters make.

It’s the sort of horror that gets under your skin rather than relying on cheap jump scares.

And it worked.

By the time the credits rolled, I was equally  impressed and traumatised.

This is exactly why I love horror films. Every now and then one comes along that genuinely unsettles you, and Obsession absolutely did that.
