Welcome to Movies I've Seen

Back in 2010, I had what can only be described as a brilliant idea or a cry for help. I decided to keep a record of every film I watched. What started as a simple list quickly turned into a long-running project that has survived job changes, house moves, streaming wars, screaming kids, countless cinema trips and more explosions than a Michael Bay box set.

Since then, I've watched everything from Oscar winners to straight-to-DVD disasters. I've travelled to galaxies far, far away, escaped dinosaurs more times than is sensible, survived enough zombie outbreaks to know that anyone saying "it's probably nothing" is almost certainly about to become a zombie, and spent years wondering whether I should have taken the red pill instead.

Unlike professional critics, I don't analyse films frame by frame or hand out bonus points for cinematography. My reviews are much simpler. Did I enjoy it? Would I watch it again? Did it make me laugh, cry, jump out of my seat, or leave me wishing I'd fired up the DeLorean and spent those two hours rewatching Back to the Future?

Over the years I've developed a soft spot for science fiction, thrillers, action films and anything involving the end of the world. If aliens invade, robots become self-aware, the dead start walking or somebody discovers a mysterious portal that definitely shouldn't be opened, there's a good chance I'll be watching.

This site isn't about being right. It's about sharing the films I've watched and the thoughts I had along the way. Sometimes I'll agree with the critics. Sometimes I'll even disagree with myself. Sometimes I'll think a five-star masterpiece was a bit boring. Sometimes I'll find myself defending a film that everyone else seems to hate (Old School). That's the beauty of movies. One person's Godfather is another person's Short Circuit.

Much like Mr Miyagi, I've learned that the journey is often more important than the destination. Although instead of "wax on, wax off", my approach is usually "watch film, write a bit and rate it out of 5".

So grab some popcorn, dim the lights and have a browse through the archive. There are thousands of films here covering more than a decade of movie watching. Somewhere in the collection you'll probably find a favourite film, a forgotten gem or a review that makes you question my judgement entirely.

As for me? I'm still watching.

The credits haven't rolled yet.
