Giant (2025)

The fascinating story of Prince Naseem, who even as a kid was cocky AF.

I remember watching him when he first started, and I still can't believe nobody managed to knock him clean out. The confidence, the showboating, the entrances... Naseem certainly knew how to entertain.

The film itself is really good, and I think casting Pierce Brosnan as Naseem's coach, Brendan Ingle, was a touch of genius. He brings a lot of warmth to the role and gives the film a bit more heart than I was expecting.

It's a solid sports biopic, and watching it brought back a lot of memories of seeing Naseem at his peak.

Still cocky though.

Redux Redux (2025)

This was interesting.

It's the type of film that I couldn't stop thinking about after it ended.

What if you could travel through the multiverse and kill the person who kidnapped and murdered your daughter?

Then do it again.

And again.

And again.

It's such a simple idea, but a really good one. There's something incredibly dark about having access to infinite versions of the person you hate most and being able to take revenge over and over again.

The film doesn't explain everything, though.

I wanted to know more about the machine, where it came from and how the whole thing actually works.

It gives you enough to understand what's happening, but leaves enough unanswered that you want to know more.

And I definitely want more.

When you've got an infinite multiverse, one film was never going to be enough.

Exit 8 (2025)

Holy moly, this is creepy as fuck.

Having played the game, I already knew what I was getting myself into, but seeing those endless corridors brought to life on screen is still incredibly unsettling.

It’s not quite as good as the game, though.

Part of what makes the game so effective is its simplicity. You’re constantly looking for something that isn’t quite right, questioning everything you see and slowly convincing yourself that you’re going mad.

The film tries to build more of a story around that, including giving the characters some much-needed backstory. I actually liked that because you obviously need something more to turn a simple game into a full-length film.

Although the whole asthma thing was a bit weird. If your asthma is that bad in the first place, you really shouldn’t have got on a train.

It still manages to capture that wonderfully uncomfortable feeling of being trapped somewhere that looks completely normal...

But definitely isn’t.

I’m genuinely surprised Hollywood hasn’t copied the idea yet.

Although now I’ve said that, I fully expect Exit 8: Los Angeles starring The Rock and Kevin Hart within the next three years.
