Role Play (2023)

This started really well, then it went downhill.

It's a shame because I actually like the cast. Kaley Cuoco and David Oyelowo are both great, and the whole idea of discovering that your seemingly normal wife is secretly an assassin should have made for a fun film.

For a while, it does.

Then it becomes boring.

And very predictable.

It felt like one of those films where you can pretty much work out what's going to happen next, and then sit there patiently waiting for the characters to catch up.

By the halfway point, I'd pretty much lost interest.

Which is impressive considering there are assassins, secret identities and people trying to kill each other.

There's a good film hiding somewhere inside Role Play.
